Welcome

Pufferfish are among the most fascinating fish in the aquarium world, but also some of the most misunderstood. For too long, reliable information has been scarce in books and online, leaving many keepers without the guidance needed to truly succeed.

That’s why we created the Pufferfish Enthusiasts Worldwide (PEW) website. What began as a small project has since grown into one of the most reliable and respected sources of pufferfish knowledge anywhere online.

Today, aquarists across the globe turn to PEW for trusted care information, detailed guides, and advice rooted in both science and long-term keeper experience.

Our mission is simple: to promote the welfare of pufferfish through education and by following nature’s example. Every care guide you’ll find here is evidence-based, fact-checked, and enriched with insights from some of the world’s most experienced keepers.

We don’t settle for “minimum standards”. Our focus is on inspiring the highest levels of husbandry, so that both fish and keepers can thrive.

The site continues to grow as we build new resources, but the foundation is already strong: a trusted hub for accurate, thoughtful, and welfare-first guidance. We invite you to explore what’s here, learn from our work, and share in the passion that has made PEW a go-to community for pufferfish enthusiasts worldwide.
